Foundational Respiratory Reconditioning

This course covers foundational respiratory principles and practices, and presents relevant information pertaining to the relationship between breathing and the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Nervous Systems.

  • Course structure will; Overview of literature describing and supporting the biological principles of respiration affecting the human body; Discuss how respiration is tied to the autonomic nervous system and which biological markers can be used for measurement; Develop an understanding of respiratory components: tidal volume, respiration rate, breathing mechanics, and their role in respiratory practice; and Demonstrate respiration techniques to aid a patient's ability to activate their sympathetic nervous system, parasympathetic nervous system, and balance their nervous systems.

    At the conclusion of the course, attendees will complete a course evaluation and pass a quiz prior to receiving the course completion certificate.
